Message from the Dean

Welcome to the Riverland Chapter AGO site! We serve the geographic area around La Crosse, Wisconsin. We have a membership of almost 30 people, and welcome to membership anyone who is interested in choral, organ, or liturgical music. You don't have to be an organist or a choral director...just be willing "to promote the organ in its historical and evolving roles," as our national mission says.

Local Events

Two Fall Tune-Up events were held on October 23 in Viroqua, WI, and November 13 in Holmen, WI. In these, chapter members facilitated tracks in Organ, Piano and Choral, according to the interests of attendees. These events reached out to many musicians and we were happy with the results.

In late January, 2011, we will do a Youth Event at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in La Crescent, MN. Piano students will be brought together to play the organ, and a Pipes, Pedals and Pizza component will be in the evening.

Two concerts will occur in and around Lent: Sunday, March 6, 2011, at 3 pm, organist Sue Walby will be assisted by the UW-La Crosse Women's Chorus.

On Sunday, March 20, 2011, in the afternoon (time TBD) there will be an organ concert at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, La Crescent, MN. The church's handbell group, Bells of Peace, will perform, among other musical offerings.

In the spring we will have a chapter potluck.
