Message from the Dean

Colleagues,
I urge you to take a minute and re-read AGO Code of Ethics.
We all see these guidelines when we renew our membership, but we probably haven't truly looked at them for a while. The Code of Ethics may appear to be black and white to one person, but may be very gray from another perspective. Thus, if you have a question pertaining to the Code of Ethics, please ask Dr. Arfsten, Chapter Dean, for advice. Help strengthen our chapter by being familiar with, and abiding by the AGO Code of Ethics.

Local Events

November 4
Recital at 3:30 featuring the works of Bach, Franck, (Calvin) Hampton, Langlais, and Vierne performed by Matt Emkey with Evensong at 4pm; Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach;
PARKING Since we have no parking lot, parking at Bethesda-by-the-Sea is a challenge! Although the police often ignore it when people park on South County Road for Sunday morning services, it is always illegal to park there, and you may receive a ticket. Whenever Barton Avenue (the street along the south side of the church) is posted as one-way — which it will be for all our concerts and services — you may park on either side of that street (facing west). If Via Bethesda (the small road between The Breaker's golf course and the church) has room, you may park there according to the directions posted on various signs. Other than that, you must seek parking spaces on the local side streets.

November 2 at 8pm
Master Chorale presents: Carmina Burana; Pink Church, Pompano; Palm Beach AGO members Jeanne & Jim Filosa, will underwrite a portion of the Pink Church tickets that they sell (normally $30 for advance/ $35 at the door) at half price for the advance tickets ($15) Contact Jim & Jeanne directly at: Pianistjeanne0656@att.net

Saturday, November 10, 9:30-11:30am

Why, What, When

Newsletter

Membership
We currently have approximately 45 members in the Palm Beach County Chapter AGO.
Who are the other organists in our area?
Do you have organist friends who are not AGO members? We’d love to send our newsletter to every area organist.
Our newsletter will keep area organists informed of concert & recitals. In addition, we are offering several workshops that are open to everyone: membership not required.
So find out who is the organist at that church down the street and send their name and email address to Dr. Arfsten at arfstenfam@aol.com.
