| The Sixth- "Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ competition"-
will be held in the city of Kaliningrad, September 6-12,2009. The first selection round will take place in Hamburg, Germany, May 11-15 'Worcester, Mass., June 27-30; and Moscow, August 28-September 2. The competition, open to organists born no earlier than January 1,1973,will include the following prizes: first place, $5,000;second place,$3,000;third place,$2,000; two diplomas,$1,000 each; and a special prize,$1,000,for the best interpretation of Mikael Tariverdiev's music. The deadline for the receipt of application forms is March 15 for Worsester and Hamburg, and April 15 for Moscow. The Competieion takes place in one Application stage and three Performance Rounds. The APPLICATION process calls for applicants to present themselves for consideration as competitors with a completed application package as outlined in the Official Rules, which will be published in "The American Organist", July 2008, and available for down- loading from the AGO Web site after that date.
