| Welcome to our web site. We are a small chapter, but offer fun and informative programs during the school year. If you are interested in church music we encourage you to join us. |

Monday, September 19,7:30 p.m. First Congregational Church, 700 Poyntz. Enter at the office entrance. Bill Pugh will give a talk about Tower Chimes, specifically the ones in First Congregational. He has slides so we all won't have to climb up into a tower. Following Bill's program, our main business item is to plan for the Members' Recital in October. Those who want to play, please come prepared with your composer, title, and timing of your selection. Sunday, October 9, 4:00 p.m. First Presbyterian Church, 8th & Leavenworth. Members' Recital. A freewill offering will go toward supporting a guest organ recital by Stephen Hamilton in February. Friday, November 4, all day with a Recital at 7:30 p.m. Kansas State University, All Faiths Chapel Auditorium. This event celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the installation of the Austin Organ. Registration Fee is $25. See http://kstatekeyboard.weebly.com/festival-presenters.html for more information. December - Because of all the Christmas activities, our chapter does not meet in December. Monday, January 16, 2012, 7:30 p.m. 2809 Oregon Lane, home of Joan Shull. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jan Kraybill, Chair of Region VI of the AGO. Jan is a graduate of KSU and UMKC and is currently the principal organist for the Community of Christ Auditorium and Temple in Independence, MO. Wednesday, February 8, 7:30 p.m. First Presbyterian Church, 8th & Leavenworth. Stephen Hamilton, Organ Recital. Our AGO Chapter is assisting First Presbyterian Church in sponsoring this recital. Saturday, February 18, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon All Faiths Chapel and McCain Auditorium. Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza. Registration 9:00-9:30, 9:30 a short program, 10:00-11:30 students play on the organs, 11:30 pizza. Monday, March 19, 7:30 p.m. All Faiths Chapel, KSU. Michael McCabe, composer and organist. Michael was organist/choirmaster at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for several years when they lived in Manhattan. He is currently in Omaha, NE. His program will be in two parts. He wants to illustrate an approach he has written on Improvisation and the second part will be to hear some of his compositions for organ. April - Happy Easter - No meeting. Monday, May 21, 7:30 p.m. Home of Mary Ellen Sutton, 1624 Plymouth Road. Last meeting of the year: election of Officers for 2012-14, planning for next year, refreshments and visiting. |
