Contact: Wayne Craig. Choral reading session led by Dawn Merrell, North Carolina Synod, ELCA. A wide range of material for choirs less than SATB. Jan 6, Thurs., Epiphany Lessons/Carols, Holy Trinity Chapel, 7pm. Members Service. Contact: Robert Smith. Members services can be a wonderful time to worship with your colleagues. Feb 11, Fri, Unity Lutheran, 7pm, Workshop on beginning hymn variations/improvisations. Contact: Charles Cohen. Often considered the highest form of the church musician’s art, improvisation is often avoided, often because we don’t know how to get started. We will work with producing simple variations of hymns. This session is appropriate for all levels of experience and will get you launched in freshening your service playing. The session will be led by “The Sopranos”: Charles Cohen, Peter Corneliussen, and Robert Smith. [Also: Fridays during Lent, organ programs at Corinth Reformed, Hickory at 12:05 pm.
