Huntsville has many nice instruments and a wealth of accomplished and helpful musicians. We welcome visitors and those moving to the area.

Sunday, September 26, 5:00 p.m. First Baptist Church
Annual hymn festival with Dr. Al Travis, Organist and Director of Music Ministry, Broadway Baptist Church, Fort Worth, TX and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Organ at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as guest leader.
Featured groups will be the Sanctuary Choir and the First Baptist Brass.

Organist Raul Prieto Ramirez to perform in Huntsville in October. Acclaimed Organist from Spain will play two concerts and present an educational outreach program over October 15-17, 2010. See www.raulprieto.com and several youtube videos (search Raul and Widor, Reger, Dupre).
An AGO scholarship fund raising dinner will be a held after the Saturday afternoon recital.

New members are welcome at any time; current membership dues reflect a discount for partial year membership.

Placement

The Huntsville Community Chorus is searching for an assistant accompanist. Interviews and auditions will be taking place the end of June. Please send resumes to the Chorus office (Huntsville Community Chorus, Attn: Marcia Connell, 3312 Long Avenue, Huntsville, AL, 35805) or online to: liturgy@holyspirithsv.com by June 23. Auditions will be Sunday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. in the choir room at FBC. The audition will consist of a short prepared piece, sightreading and accompaniment. Octavos to be prepared for accompaniment can be obtained from the Chorus office on Long Avenue.

Valley United Methodist, Huntsville, needs a choir director. Contact Hank Lay 256-881-6653.
