Message from the Dean

Good Morning AGO members,

Congratulations to Valerie and Adam Hughes. Their son, Samuel, decided to enter this world on April 15th, about two weeks earlier than expected. Mother and baby are doing well and I'm sure they would love hearing from you.

Mila Karamushka, our new sub-dean, has been very busy organizing an organ crawl in Charlotte, NC. We will be visiting three different churches in Charlotte. St. John's Lutheran Church will be our first stop. There is a 1927 Hook and Hastings at St. John's. It was enlarged in 1986 and refurbished in 2005. Our second stop is the Missionary Friendship Baptist Church. They have a 6000 pipe Fratelli-Rufatti. The third and last stop is the Covenant Presbyterian Church. They have two organs, a 1949 Aeolian- Skinner, opus 1196, and a two-manual, 37-rank Schlicker.

We will meet in the parking lot of the University United Methodist Church at 8:15 am on Monday, April 29th. We will return at 8:30 pm. This promises to be a wonderful day of making music, eating lunch and dinner and socializing. Please contact our sub-dean, Mila Karamushka at home 919-246-5710, mobile 919-824-5610, or e-mail discover2020@gmail.com. Mila needs to hear from you by April 24th. We need to know how many drivers will be needed. Some of us have already committed to going to Charlotte. I'm going and hope to see you for this wonderful program.

Laurel Siviglia
Dean
