Message from the Dean |
| A MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN--DAVID SCHELAT
Coming up on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1530 Foulk Road in Wilmington, is a catered dinner and discussion of the relationship of church musicians and their clergy partners. Our guests will be the Rev. Kit Schooley and musician James Batt, who most recently worked together at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. This program meeting is designed for you to invite your clergy partner to attend with you. (I invited the clergy people at my church today to come with me. They were quite enthusiastic about this evening! Yours will be as well.) We will have more details about the meal and its cost soon, but please put this on your calendar today and invite your clergy friends. We will have a delicious dinner together as well as a lively conversation about the joys and challenges of musicians and clergy people working together in the church. Our final program of the year will be on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Church on the Green in New Castle, Delaware. This program will be a members' recital followed by a catered end of year banquet. We have ended our program year with this combination of events for a couple of years, and it seems to work quite well. We figured, "why tinker with success?" So - think about what you'd like to play in this program - a piece big or small, difficult or easy. We'd love to have you play! More information about the banquet later. |

Substitute Organists |
| To aid churches in finding substitute organists for services, the Delaware Chapter has compiled a list of organists available for various types of engagements. In addition to name and phone number, each listing provides information about music degrees and guild certifications, availability (whether for Sundays, weddings and funerals, or interim work), ability to conduct different ensembles, and any particular denominational preference (denomination listings are not necessarily exclusive; many organists have experience outside the listed traditions). Please note, information about substitute organists was provided by the individual organists and has not been verified by the Delaware Chapter. This list is provided as a service and is not intended as an endorsement of any organist by the Delaware Chapter AGO.
