Message from the Dean

Dear Friends:
Herb Brokering's wonderful Easter text still reverberates in my head:

Alleluia! Jesus is risen!
Trumpets resounding in glorious light!
Splendor, the Lamb, heaven forever!
Oh, what a miracle God has in sight!
Jesus is risen and we shall arise,
Give God the glory!
Alleluia!

Those of us who serve Christian churches have survived through another season of Lent, and now celebrate the great fifty days of Eastertide.  This is the time for major keys, jubilant rhythms, and positive thinking!

Yes, your choir will continue to show up for another couple months of Sundays!

Make a decision to learn a new piece; try a new hymn-registration; or, register for a summer workshop!

Do plan to attend our next chapter-sponsored event:  Pedals, Pipes and Pizza @ St. Paul Lutheran, Davenport, Saturday, April 28th, from 10 am to 1 pm.  For more information contact Chris Nelson @ chris@stpaulqc.org.

Best Regards,
Steve Steely, Dean

Local Events

On Sat. April 28, 2012 from 10am to 1pm, our chapter will be leading Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza, a program to introduce piano students to the organ. This event will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The students will be given a demonstration of the organ and how it works. Then, they will have an opportunity to play a piece on the instrument. We are looking for volunteers to be available for that day to help with hosting the students and leading to the places where they need to go. At the conclusion of the event, we will celebrate with some pizza! Please contact Chris Nelson (chris@stpaulqc.org) if you are willing to help with this event.
