Sioux Trails Chapter

Last updated: June 3, 2009

Message from the Dean

Greetings! The Sioux Trails chapter of the American Guild of Organists has been organized for over 25 years, serving members in the region surrounding Mankato, New Ulm and Saint Peter, Minnesota.

This region hosts a wealth of organs in various churches and is also home to three colleges (Bethany Lutheran College, Martin Luther College and Gustavus Adolphus College) and one university (Minnesota State University) that have strong student organ programs. In addition, several pipe organ builders call this region home. The Sioux Trails chapter strives to bring all the talent and interest spread throughout a fairly large geographic area together for education, community, enjoyment, and outreach.

In addition to our regularly scheduled monthly events, which might vary from concerts, workshops, or potluck dinners, our chapter proudly sponsors a weekly Summer Noon-time Recital Series that features chapter members and friends at the console of a featured organ. This past summer, 2008, we extended the series beyond Mankato to New Ulm, reaching an average audience of 50+ each week. Mark your calendars for next summer, when we produce another series that you will enjoy.

Please contact me at any time if you have questions about our chapter. My email address is chadwinterfeldt@yahoo.com and my daytime phone number is 507.934.3060.
